No Rinse Prepaint Cleaner is a concentrated alkaline detergent blend specially developed to reduce cleaning time and water use by eliminating the rinsing step.
Once soil has been removed from the surface by spraying, wiping, air-lancing or vacuuming, a water rinse of the cleaned surface is not required before coating, sealing or staining.
This is possible because No Rinse Prepaint Cleaner does not leave a soapy residue or film which could impair coating adhesion.
No Rinse Prepaint Cleaner is effective across a wide range of soil types and may be used before applying water-borne coatings and sealants.
No Rinse Prepaint Cleaner cuts cleaning costs by eliminating the final rinsing of the cleaned surface before coating application.
In field use, No Rinse Prepaint Cleaner has delivered superior cleaning performance and surface adhesion characteristics.
The rapid drying time after cleaning, usually less than 30 minutes, permits quick coating application. This saves the downtime costs involved in closing all or part of a facility during the cleaning operation.
In many cases the coating can be applied before the scaffolding has to come down to accommodate personnel or to be moved to another location. No Rinse Prepaint Cleaner has a very slight, mild odor in its concentrated form. When diluted, it is virtually odorless.
No Rinse Prepaint Cleaner performs effectively through a broad temperature range, mixes readily with water and is safe to use near vegetation.

To determine how much No Rinse Prepaint Cleaner will be needed for a specific cleaning job, use the following guide:
Calculate the total area to be cleaned by multiplying the length by height |
Length X Height = Total Square Footage |
________ X ________ = ________ |
To determine the approximate gallons of No Rinse Prepaint Cleaner required:
- Select Light, Medium or Heavy Duty from the chart (below) based on soil conditions.
- Find the Square Feet of Coverage closest to the Total Surface Area in Square Feet to be cleaned.
- Use the number in the “Gallons of Concentrate” column for the number of gallons needed to clean a flat, smooth surface using a low pressure spray applicator.
Note: For rough, porous or corrugated surfaces, multiply gallons X 1.2.
For high pressure spray application multiply gallons X 1.3.

- Metal Fabrication Shop – Prepaint cleaning of interior painted block walls.
Restrictions – Minimal water use allowed because of plant machinery and equipment.
Soil conditions – Medium with dirt, dust, shop soils and light oil film.
Procedure – A mixture of 10 oz. of No Rinse Prepaint Cleaner per gallon of water was applied to the walls using a airless sprayer. After 5 minutes of contact time to loosen the soil, a 2 oz. per gallon mixture was sprayed from the top of the wall down to flush off the soil. A water rinse of the surface was not required before painting. - Metal Grinding Shop – Prepaint cleaning of roof decking and painted block walls
Restrictions – Minimal water use allowed because of plant machinery and equipment
Soil conditions – Heavy deposits of carbon-like grinding dust. No oil film.
Procedure – One-step cleaning of the surfaces using a mixture of 5 oz. of No Rinse Prepaint Cleaner per gallon of water. The solution was applied from a portable lift using an airless sprayer fitted with a wand extension to increase reach. The solution was sprayed onto the surface until the grinding dust was flushed off. A water rinse of the cleaned surface was not required before painting. - Metal Treatment Plant – Surface preparation of acid-residue contaminated decking
Restrictions – Health and safety concerns regarding the planned use of ammonia for neutralization
